Moy Park Belfast City Marathon 2024: A Record-Breaking Run

Date: Sunday, 5th May 2024

Start Time: 9 AM, from the iconic Stormont Estate, finishing at the scenic Ormeau Park.

Eligibility: Open to all aged 18 and above. Entrants must complete the marathon or wheelchair race within a 6-hour limit.

The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon is distinguished as one of the UK and Ireland’s most esteemed marathons, certified by AIMS. Setting off from Stormont Estate, the route will take you through Belfast’s diverse quarters—North, South, East, and West—finishing in Ormeau Park. Known for its exceptional local encouragement, the event promises an atmosphere filled with energy and support across the 26.2-mile journey.

The 2024 marathon has reached capacity, boasting a record number of 5,500 participants and becoming the city’s largest marathon event in history.

Registration Rates and Dates:

• New Bundle Package: Secure a £5 discount on combined Marathon and Half Marathon entries until 30th November.
• Early Registration: Reduced rates for Athletics NI members (£48) and non-members (£50) until 31st January 2024.
• Standard Registration: Adjusts to £65 for members and £67 for non-members, concluding on 12th April 2024.

Course: The route showcases Belfast’s rich tapestry, from the historic Stormont Estate to the vibrant heart of Ormeau Park.

This St. Patrick’s Day, Belfast streets will pulsate with life, showcasing a spectacular parade of costumes, music, dance, and theatrical performances. Parade Details:

• Date: Sunday, 17th March
• Start Time: 1:30 PM from Belfast City Hall
• Route: Through the city centre, offering excellent viewing spots along Chichester Street, Victoria Street, High Street, Castle Place, and Donegall Place.

Accessibility: The parade is a free event, open to all without the need for tickets. Please be aware of temporary traffic arrangements to ensure a safe and joyous celebration.

Community Engagement: This event benefits from the support of The Executive Office and the District Council’s Good Relations Programme, highlighting our commitment to fostering unity and understanding within our community.

St. Patrick’s Music Weekend by Belfast TradFest: From 15th to 17th March, Belfast TradFest presents an array of traditional arts events. Celebrate St. Patrick with free and ticketed events featuring concerts, céilís, workshops, and more, all showcasing the rich tapestry of our traditional arts.

• Belfast Schools’ Traditional Music Performance: Kickstarting the weekend with youthful talent.
• Outdoor Pipe Band Extravaganza: A showcase of top-tier pipe bands.
